We need a background check done on us so we can get custody of our granddaughters i want to do my own but how?

i want to do my own background check but all the sites i go to charge and is there anybody that can tell me what they will look for we are not rich people and im so afraid that this will stop the court from letting us have our granddaughters i don't think there is anything that bad in our background i just want to bring my babies back home with us they are in oklahoma and we are in kansas my daughter has had them removed from her home twice them kids need to be with family not with strangers
